The C2E2 Sketch Report: Day 3

Last day of the convention was crazy good.  We broke milestones for Unshaven Comics in sales and sketch’s that day.  Let’s just jump into it:

It’s a two for one on this guy and I was told the deadliest thing an artist can here: “just do whatever…”.

Just whatever is going to lead to some weird shit.  So on the left we have Darksied with some inner turmoil and Spider-Man on the right enjoying a milkshake.

So here’s where the fun begins on the weird sketch’s coming in.  I loved doing them, but they where head scratches for sure.

Here we have Two-Face as half Yellow and half Violet Lanterns.  For those not in the know, Yellow = Fear and Violet = Love.  Instead of doing the typical and making the bad side yellow lantern and the good side love, I switched them.  There’s something that much more disturbing to having the messed up side of Harvey Dent being an avatar of love.

Next up is Nightcrawler vs. Yoda.  But like the last one, it’s never that easy.  After spinning the Wheel-O-Lanterns, we wound up with a violet Nightcrawler and an undead Black Lantern Yoda.

I’ve drawn Nightcrawler before, but never Yoda surprisingly enough.  I liked his coloring job and really thought that I got the zombie look for him right.

The last sketch to take the cake this weekend was this little guy.

Doc Brown vs. Wall-E.

But of course, somebody spun the wheel.  So now we have Yellow Lantern Doc Brown vs. Red Lantern Wall-E.

I don’t understand it, I don’t want to understand it, but I love how it turned out.  So there we go.

Here’s the group shot of guys that kept me on my toes the whole weekend.  The only one I didn’t get a picture of was the Blue Lantern Jessica Rabbit vs. Orange Lantern Tron Bonn.

Apologies to these guys too, I wasn’t there to get this group shot.  I took the very good advice of my wonderful wife and went for a half hour massage for my aching back.  I don’t mind drawing for six to eight hours, but in the convention chairs made of hard plastic, it takes a toll on one’s back.

Thanks for taking a look at the photo’s of sketch’s folks.  As always, you can click on the image to see it larger.  We appreciate comments, good & bad (it’s so we can learn from our mistakes.) and we’ll see you and Wizard World Chicago.

Keep and eye out for us, we might be going to and earlier Con before August.

Great now I wished I had thought of a VS. picture…
